New students

Are you international student who recently enrolled in higher education? Come and find out what you need to do to ensure you have proper health insurance.

EUROPEAN STUDENTS

You must be covered by a health insurer in your home country.

Ask your social protection body for your European health insurance card (EHIC). This card will prevent you from having to register with the French social security system. This card must be applied for in your country of origin and be valid until at least the end of the university year.

Once you arrive in France, if you do not have a European Health Insurance Card, you will need to register on the Assurance Maladie website for international students.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS FROM OUTSIDE THE EUROPEAN UNION

When you arrive in France and once you have completed administrative registration at the university, you must register on the Assurance Maladie website for international students in order to have your healthcare costs covered by the general health insurance scheme (CPAM).
